Master thesis/Project thesis: A Novel Integrated MATLAB-Software for Operating High-end Measurement Devices
Are you ready to contribute to ground breaking research using world-record-setting technology?
We are offering an exciting and challenging master thesis opportunity for a highly motivated student to develop an integrated software platform capable of simultaneously operating and synchronizing three state-of-the-art scientific devices to set up a world-record rheometer, capable of measuring shear rates up to 200,000 s⁻¹ setting the global benchmark in high-speed rheological measurements.
- A high-sensitivity confocal interferometric sensor, designed for micrometer resolution measurements.
- Actuators for precise substrate levelling.
- A precision-controlled motor system, used to dynamically adjusting the sensor position with high accuracy.
The aim of this thesis is to design and implement a robust, user-friendly software platform—primarily using MATLAB, with possible integration in C++/C and Python—that ensures real-time communication, coordination, and data acquisition from all three systems.
Candidate Profile:
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB are mandatory
- Familiarity with C/C++ and computer-controlled communication with external devices is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Python is a plus
What We Offer:
- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge scientific equipment.
- A collaborative and innovative research environment.
- The opportunity to contribute to a world-class research project.
